Job summary

Sensata Technologies is seeking a Computer Operations Specialist in Chennai, India to support day-to-day enterprise technology services. The role focuses on timely issue resolution, system reliability, and efficient technology deployments while minimizing business disruption and maintaining service levels.

You will engage in routine tasks, on-site PC hardware/software support, and collaborate to enforce standards, document testing, and provide post-implementation troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with routine tasks, as per detailed instructions.
  • Coordinates on-site desktop support for PC hardware/software needs.
  • Assists, develops and communicates technical, systems and application standards and ensures compliance with existing standards.
  • Participates in the maintenance of systems through documentation for testing and validation.
  • Performs post-implementation support, identifying root cause with strategic solutions to problems.
  • Works with vendors to analyze and troubleshoot solutions.
  • Help identify new solutions and services for the desktop support team that align with business objectives.
  • Participate in the training of fellow desktop administrators in organizational processes.

Job description

The Computer Operations Specialist supports the day-to-day operation of enterprise technology services by providing timely resolution of user issues, maintaining system reliability, and supporting technology deployments. This role effectively balances production support requirements with incoming user requests, prioritizing work to minimize business disruption and maintain service levels. Through technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction, the Computer Operations Specialist delivers dependable IT support and contributes to a positive end-user experience.

General Responsibilities
  • Assists with routine tasks, that are commonly associated with operating a computer in accordance with detailed instructions
  • Coordinates on-site desktop support to business with PC Hardware/software needs
  • Assists, develops and communicates technical, systems and application standards and ensures compliance with existing standards
  • Participates the maintenance of systems through completing documentation for testing and validation
  • Performs post-implementation support, identifying root cause with strategic solutions to problems
  • Works with vendors to analyze and troubleshoot solutions
  • Help identify new solutions and services for the desktop support team that align with business objectives
  • Participate in the training of fellow desktop administrators in organizational processes
Experience / Qualifications
  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
