Mercor is seeking a Chemistry PhD coding expert for a remote 6-week contracting engagement. Location is remote with a 20+ hour weekly commitment.

The role focuses on sourcing material from papers and datasets, writing prompts to challenge AI models, and building grading criteria for scientific tasks. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in chemistry or related field, has depth in quantum and computational chemistry, and is proficient in Python or R, plus Git/GitHub and Docker experience.

• PhD in chemistry, physical chemistry, theoretical chemistry, computational chemistry, or closely related field.
• Demonstrated depth in both quantum chemistry and computational chemistry.
• Working proficiency in Python, R, or another relevant programming language for scientific computing.
• Comfortable with Git/GitHub and running code in Docker.
