Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Component Test Engineer to support DoD programs at NSWC Crane. You will develop and maintain test procedures and fixtures for resistors, transistors, transformers, and ICs, collaborating with environmental and radiation teams to complete characterization.

You will train staff, review test data, and migrate tests to new equipment while ensuring compliance with CM, Quality, and MIL-STD standards. A Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with electrical test equipment and component testing.
• Ability to travel nationwide (up to 10%).
• Must be able to obtain Secret US Government Clearance.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging electronic test circuits.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Amentum is currently searching for a Component Test Engineer to support high-profile DoD programs at NSWC Crane. This position involves developing and maintaining test procedures and test fixtures of electronic components such as resistors, transistors, transformers, and integrated circuits.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop electrical tests for validation against component specifications.
• Collaborate with environmental and radiation test teams to complete component characterization and testing.
• Work with Configuration Management and Quality teams to manage releases and revisions of test fixtures, software, and test procedures.
• Perform characterization of newly designed components to verify operation to design requirements.
• Train engineers and operators to correctly perform testing of components.
• Review test data and reports prior to being provided to customers.
• Maintain existing fixtures, software, and test procedures
• Migrate tests to new equipment and systems, as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related technical field.
• Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and impedance analyzers.
• Experience with troubleshooting and debug of electronic test circuits.
• Experience with electronic component testing and characterization.
• Ability to travel nationwide, as needed (10%).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Proficient in scripting languages (i.e. perl or python) and data analysis.
• Knowledge of LabView.
• Knowledge and experience with MIL-STD requirements.
• Experience with design of Printed Circuit Boards.
• Active Secret Clearance.

Compensation Details:

$65,000.00-$85,000.00
