Job Summary: The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the planning, execution, and documentation of the commissioning process for wind turbines. This role requires a strong technical background in electrical and mechanical systems, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently in remote locations.
Responsibilities
- Commissioning Planning and Preparation:
- Develop and review commissioning procedures and checklists.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and manufacturers to ensure timely commissioning.
- Prepare and verify all necessary documentation, including test reports and commissioning certificates.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are available and in good working order.
- On-Site Commissioning Execution:
- Perform pre‑commissioning checks and tests on wind turbine electrical and mechanical systems.
- Execute the full commissioning sequence according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning process.
- Perform functional testing and performance verification of wind turbines.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Supervise and guide technicians and subcontractors during commissioning activities.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze commissioning data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Prepare detailed commissioning reports and documentation.
- Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on commissioning progress.
- Document deviations and lessons learned.
- Safety and Quality:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Ensure commissioning activities meet the highest quality standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and risk assessments.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain effective communication with project teams, manufacturers, and clients.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
