Job summary

2COMS Consulting Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai seeks a Commis Chef/Kitchen Assistant to support senior chefs with food preparation, cooking, and plating in a fast‑paced industrial catering setting.

You will prepare ingredients, monitor recipes and portion sizes, maintain hygiene, follow HACCP, and coordinate with the kitchen team to meet service schedules. Qualifications

• Food Handler’s Licence A/B or equivalent certification.
• Diploma in Culinary Arts preferred.
• Experience as Commis Chef/Kitchen Assistant advantageous.

• Experience in industrial catering and hot kitchen operations preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs with food preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Prepare ingredients including vegetables, meats, sauces, and other food items.
• Ensure food is prepared according to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen sanitation.
• Follow HACCP procedures and food safety regulations, including temperature monitoring and record keeping.
• Support timely food production and coordinate with the kitchen team to meet service schedules.
• Prepare special dietary meals according to specifications.
• Monitor stock levels, rotate inventory (FIFO), and report shortages or expired products.
• Minimize food waste and ensure efficient use of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Keep workstations, kitchen equipment, and utensils clean and properly sanitized.
• Report faulty or unsafe equipment to the Chef or supervisor.
• Comply with company health, safety, and hygiene policies.
• Perform other kitchen duties assigned by the Head Chef or Management.

Requirements

• Minimum Food Handler’s Licence A/B or equivalent certification as applicable.

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef, Kitchen Assistant, or similar kitchen role is an advantage.
