Job summary

Cognizant is hiring a SRE Lead to oversee distributed systems and cloud operations in Hyderabad/Bangalore. The role emphasizes Python development, Kubernetes and OpenShift, deployment pipelines, and strong observability capabilities.

You will work hybrid, 3 days at client offices, with the opportunity to implement GenAI observability and modern tracing. A solid background in automation and log analysis is required.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of experience in SRE or cloud operations.
• Proficient in Python and container orchestration.
• Hands-on with monitoring, logging and alerting tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain observability dashboards and alerts.
• Design and optimize deployment pipelines.
• Work with API gateway, Apigee, Kafka, Redis for middleware integration.
• Develop and run multi-tier distributed systems.
• Implement automation using Playwright or similar tools.
• Monitor application logs using Splunk and perform log analysis.
• Code in Python and manage Kubernetes and OCP environments.

PRIMARY SKILLS.

SRE Lead - python, Kubernetes, Openshift container platform (OCP) , Cloud platform, Github, Deployment pipeline, observability tools, GenAI

Shift Timing - 12.30 PM to 10.30 PM IST

Location - Hyderabad & Bangalore Only

Years of Expirence - 6 Years to 12 Years

Work Mode - Hybrid ( 3 Days work for client office )

• Knowledge of Python
• Good understanding and experience in Kubernetes and Openshift Container Platform (OCP)
• Cloud Platform understanding
• Knowledge of how to work / execute Postman
• Microservices architecture understanding
• Strong understanding of multi-tier distributed systems
• Automation experience any tool (playwright preferred)
• Splunk - Strong understanding and ability to frame query and analyze application logs
• Grafana - good understanding of how to build dashboards /alerts
• Github - source control tool knowledge
• should have worked and have knowledge of Deployment pipeline
• Knowledge on services health check - actuator, liveliness, readiness probe
• Understanding of middleware integration - API gateway, apigee, kafka, redis
• Build and maintain observability dashboards, alerts, and tracing pipelines
• Exposure to LLM observability tools (Phoenix, LangSmith, etc.) preferred not mandatory
• Understanding of GenAI / Agentic systems / RAG pipelines is preferred not mandatory
