Job summary

Abbott in Mumbai, India is seeking a Software Developer/Engineer to create, maintain and debug C# applications, APIs and database functions. You will develop interfaces, apps and other technical solutions, work from requirement specs, and ensure code quality within FDA-regulated environment.

You will collaborate across teams, write clean C# code, implement tests, and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.

JOB DESCRIPTION: MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Software developer / Engineer role creates, maintains and debugs C# application code, API interfaces and database functions. The primary function of this role is the development of applications that process, ingest and transform data as well as to create/maintain user interfaces.

Software Developer / Engineer Responsibilities

• Develop interfaces, applications and other technical solutions
• Creation and modification C# software source code, SQL scripts, and procedures.
• Must be able to work under tight deadlines and juggle priorities as needed.
• Work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
• Design and implement various database queries, stored procedures, etc.
• Support implementation, enhancement, and modifications to test cases, procedures, scripts, and code.
• Contribute to and support gathering, analyzing, and validating requirements.
• Working from requirement specifications, develop, maintain, and update detailed design and interface specifications.
• Contribute to and support root-cause analysis of failures.
• Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
• Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
• Identify and routinely use the most effective, cost-efficient, and best practice to execute processes; continually evaluate their effectiveness and appropriateness, and promote the process of continuous quality improvement and risk management.

Experience and Skills

• Total combined experience: 3+ years.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science (or a related discipline)
• 3+ years’ experience in Microsoft Visual Studio (C#/VB.NET)
• 3+ years’ experience in database development (SQL Server / PostgreSQL)
• Knowledge of Azure Kubernetes Microservices
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
• Knowledge of concurrency patterns in C#
• Proficient with Microsoft PostgreSQL and SQL Server
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to Debug and isolate software problems.
• Experience ASP.NET / Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Knack for writing clean, readable C# code
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Source Control Software)
• Familiarity with continuous integration.
