Job summary

State Street in Hyderabad seeks a Cloud Platform Engineer with DevOps and IaC expertise to design and manage infrastructure as code and deployment pipelines on Azure. You will implement reusable Terraform modules, automate resources, and contribute to self-service tools while ensuring security and compliance across PaaS/SaaS apps.

Ideal candidates have 11–14 years in software engineering, strong Terraform and Azure experience, and familiarity with Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 11 to 14 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience.
• Extensive experience in DevOps practices - CI/CD, GitOps, Image scanning and signing.
• Terraform expert with extensive experience with Azure.
• Proficient in writing clean, bug-free code per defined standards.
• Ability to write unit tests and test their code accordingly.
• Awareness of project technologies, coding practices and tools.
• Hands on with Git, Jira, Artifactory, Confluence.
• Azure IaaS and PaaS services experience; Kubernetes experience preferred.
• Security-focused mindset for SaaS applications in the public cloud.

Job description

As a Cloud Platform Engineer – Devops/IAC, you will be part of a diverse team and primarily be responsible for the following:

• Design , implement and manage infrastructure as code[IaC] using terraform
• DevOps CI/CD process to deploy infrastructure/services to azure
• Responsible for cloud platform build, release and delivery pipelines
• Build the IaC framework from ground up applying all best practices.
• Author reusable terraform modules and templates
• Manage resources, using Azure Terraform modules, and automated infrastructure management.
• Developing, deploying, and maintaining tools built from the ground up in support of self-service, quality, security, and compliance initiatives.
• Improve quality of service for PaaS & SaaS based application deployments on Azure Kubernetes Services platform
• Ability to assist, contribute & lead when required with prototyping various platform design specific solutions & technologies
• Ability to apply global research on next gen technologies, frameworks, solutions & best practices to fulfill various project & platform specific requirements
• Balance pragmatism with vision; deliver continuous improvements to the team’s process and codebase
• Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents
• Contribute and drive knowledge sharing, documentation & collaboration
• Be a team player, accountable, self-motivated and delivery focused engineer

What we value

• Minimum 11 to 14 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience
• Extensive experience in DevOps practices - CI/CD, GitOps, Image scanning and signing
• This person must be a Terraform expert and have extensive experience with Azure
• Competence in writing clean, bug-free code as per defined standards (appropriate variable declarations, class/method design, non-redundant and optimized code)
• Ability to write unit test cases and test their code accordingly
• Awareness of technologies used in their project and coding practices and tools
• Ability to translate design/program specification to clean code
• Knowledge of using code repository tools and build automation
• Azure certificates a plus
• A passionate engineer who lives and breathes Azure cloud, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, applications at scale.
• Hands on experience with Git , jira , artifactory , confluence etc
• 3+ years of work experience platform automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) orchestration tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Hands on experience with Azure services including IaaS and PaaS services
• Experience building and deploying containers with Kubernetes or the strong desire to immediately obtain significant experience
• Able to geek out on monitoring, instrumentation, observability with a detective mindset
• A security focused mind with experience securing SaaS application and APIs in the public cloud
