Who you’ll be working with

We build the solutions dreamed up by the product and design teams. Our goal is to deliver working software every two weeks. We are a large team that spans across three global offices, but we collaborate and integrate front‑and‑back‑end components and interfaces to provide a user‑centered experience through web and mobile platforms.

What you’ll be doing

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Manager to lead our DevOps engineering team, drive delivery excellence, and provide technical leadership across multiple client engagements.

The ideal candidate will combine strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, and security with proven people‑management and client relationship skills. This role requires the ability to make sound technical and staffing decisions, guide cloud and DevOps architecture, and ensure reliable, automated, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions across projects.

The Manager will own team delivery outcomes, development, performance management, and team growth, while actively contributing to project execution, client discussions, and presales solutioning.

• People Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, manage, and grow a DevOps engineering team while establishing team development plans, coaching emerging leads, and fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Drive effective resource planning, staffing, and skill development aligned with evolving client and business needs.
• DevOps & Cloud Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical leadership across AWS, GCP, and Azure engagements to guide cloud adoption, deployment strategies, and infrastructure architecture. Partner with cross‑functional teams to make sound technical decisions, mitigate risks, and ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and automated solutions.
• CI/CD, Automation & Engineering Excellence
  • Establish, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), mainly Terraform and AWS CDK, to enhance deployment reliability and engineering productivity. Drive continuous improvement across observability, incident response, and operational readiness to maintain robust, scalable infrastructure.
  • Develop and operationalize Codal’s DevOps methodology, standardization, and work with engineering leadership to drive it across the organization.
• Cloud Security & Governance
  • Drive cloud security, IAM, and governance across all environments while ensuring full compliance and risk mitigation. Integrate robust security controls, secrets management, and access governance seamlessly into deployment workflows and architecture.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery Cloud Infrastructure
  • Design and build out multi‑cloud, multi‑premise, cloud, and backup systems based upon requirements. Be able to provide recommendations on the appropriate backup and disaster recovery for engagements.
• Client Relationship - Technical Leader
  • Act as a trusted technical partner across assigned client accounts, leading discussions on infrastructure, deployment, cloud strategy, and risk management. Own DevOps delivery commitments, communicate project progress and mitigation plans clearly, and provide hands‑on leadership during critical delivery milestones.
• Solutioning, Presales
  • Define the approach for DevOps architecture, estimates, and delivery plans in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Identify opportunities for cloud optimization and modernization, while advancing Codal's DevOps practice.
  • You will identify risks, scope considerations, and opportunities for modernization to drive successful client solutions and expand engineering capabilities.

What you’ll need to be successful (Requirements)

Must-Have Skills

• Demonstrated experience managing and developing DevOps engineering teams.
• Strong practical expertise in a major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and optimization.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation/CDK.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, networking, and secure deployment practices.
• Experience working with cloud architects and cross‑functional engineering teams on infrastructure and deployment architecture.
• Strong client‑facing communication, stakeholder management, and technical decision‑making skills.
• Experience contributing to technical proposals, presales solutioning, effort estimation, and infrastructure assessments.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident management tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or cloud‑native monitoring services.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization, compliance and governance, and infrastructure resource auditing.
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and project management tools such as Jira.
• Experience with AI‑assisted software engineering tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent tools to improve engineering productivity and quality.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent DevOps certifications.
• Experience with multi‑cloud or hybrid‑cloud architectures.
• Experience building internal DevOps accelerators, reusable infrastructure modules, and engineering standards.
