Job summary

Bounteous is seeking an infrastructure automation engineer to implement automation for certification and plant management using Python and Ansible. You will extend APIs to enable on-demand infrastructure and perform lab-based testing during hardware and software certification cycles.

In this role, you will interact with internal clients to gather requirements and design robust, scalable solutions. Strong scripting, networking knowledge, and Linux proficiency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience automating installation, configuration or management of infrastructure using scripting languages.
• Firm understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, HTTP, SSL, and related networking concepts.

About the Role

The role involves:

• Implementing automation for certification and plant management using Python and Ansible
• Extending and integrating APIs to provide infrastructure-on-demand
• Performing and automating lab-based testing as part of new hardware and software certification
• Communicating with internal clients and stakeholders to identify new business requirements and design well architected solutions that meet their needs

Skills Required

• Experience automating repetitive tasks related to installation, configuration or management of infrastructure using Ansible, Python, shell or other scripting/programming language
• A firm understanding of networking concepts & protocols at all layers: TCP/IP, BGP, HTTP, SSL etc...
• Experience with distributed web applications and knowledge of their underlying infrastructure
• Comfort working with a Linux-based command line

Skills Desired

• Experience with other programming languages
• Hands-on experience in Software installations (upgrades, updates and patching)
• Expertise with F5 load-balancer configuration and APIs (TMSH, iControl)
• Hands-on experience deploying & configuring other network infrastructure (Cisco, Arista, etc...)
• Knowledge of virtualized and containerized infrastructure
• Understanding software version control, deployment & build tools and SDLC practices
• Recognized industry certifications from F5, Cisco and other vendors
• Experience: 510 years, mid-to-senior level.
• Core Skills: Experience and knowledge of Infrastructure (on-prem), tooling, automation etc. is mandatory; Python and Ansible strongly preferred but not mandatory; observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack) a big plus.
