Job summary

Vanguard seeks an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our India office in Hyderabad. You will design, deploy, and optimize cloud platforms, focusing on AWS services like DMS, FSx, and Lambda, with strong scripting in Python and PowerShell.

The role requires collaboration across teams to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient cloud operations. You will mentor junior staff, contribute to standards, and support disaster recovery and hybrid cloud initiatives in a dynamic, globally connected

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or cloud operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent experience.
• Strong AWS experience with DMS, FSx, and Lambda; proficient in Python, PowerShell, and GitHub.
• Experience with data replication and CDC technologies (Attunity/Qlik Replicate) preferred.
• Experience with AWS Transfer Family, DataSync, Storage Gateway, CI/CD, and related cloud tools preferred.

Role Summary

This role provides advanced level technical support for complex projects. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves hardware or software issues that span multiple technology domains, as elevated from the team. Develops technical standards and documentation, enforces security best practices, supports disaster recovery and collaborates with teams to align cloud solutions with business needs.

Responsibilites

• Designs, implements, and deploys cloud platforms to support and meet business needs. Identifies, recommends, and implements opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
• Provides advanced level technical support and ensures reliable operation of cloud production. Troubleshoots software systems on multiple cloud computing platforms and system integration into existing cloud computing platforms. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.
• Develops technical standards. Tests and evaluates IT vendor products. Reviews configuration parameters to optimize system performance and maximize operation uptime
• Elevates code into the development, test, and cloud production environments on schedule. Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents.
• Learns and understands client area business functions and requirements. Determines the appropriate technical tool to address the client''s business needs.
• Trains and mentors more junior staff on processes and releases. Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues elevated from staff. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.
• Administers system activities. Writes the technical portion of assigned deliverables. Performs systems analysis, including system requirements analysis and definition, and logical design.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains the security of cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with both internal governance standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Oversees and monitors hybrid cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and efficient resource utilization.
• Develops and implements automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, configuration, and scaling of cloud-based resources.
• Establishes and manages disaster recovery and business continuity protocols, ensuring robust backup strategies and minimizing data loss risks.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or cloud operations. Bachelors degree (B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT) or equivalent experience.
• Must Have: Strong experience with AWS Cloud services, including AWS DMS, AWS FSx and AWS Lambda, along with hands‑on experience in Python, PowerShell, and GitHub. Ability to support cloud‑based data replication, automation, and platform operations. Highly Preferred: Experience with Attunity (Qlik Replicate) and enterprise data replication technologies, including Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions.
• Good to Have: Hands‑on experience with AWS Transfer Family, AWS DataSync, AWS Storage Gateway, Cloud‑based databases, Bitbucket/Bamboo, CI/CD, Pipeline Development, Cloud Platform Development, Cloud Based Application Development, and related cloud engineering technologies.
