About the position:

Chevron invites applications for the role of Cloud Engineer - Infrastructure as Code within our team in India. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying and maintaining infrastructure solutions that support application and other core services utilizing DevOps methodologies. This position will provide broad exposure to the application of technology to enable business with many opportunities for growth and professional development for the candidate. This Lead role has an expectation of 5‑10 years of relevant experience and will provide mentorship to junior members of the team.

Key responsibilities:
  • Participate in Azure Cloud/Digital Related Business Requirement discussions and design sessions
  • Perform Azure cloud development and design work that may include logical system design, cloud architecture analysis and design, and systems engineering
  • Execute the implementation and automation of Azure services through DevOps Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies, adhering to established standards and best practices
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Azure environments and services
  • Design and implement application security for Azure cloud native solutions
  • Collaborate with software engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
  • Modify and improve existing systems
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives
  • Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems
  • Administer cloud solutions in line with industry best practices, ensuring their ongoing optimization and compliance
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or related discipline
  • A minimum of 5‑10 years of total experience
  • Must have Microsoft AZ400 Certification
  • Proficiency in using IaC tools such as Ansible
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and Azure DevOps to manage infrastructure code
  • Strong understanding of Azure cloud platform and related services
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements for cloud infrastructure
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience in automating and orchestrating infrastructure deployments and management
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with development and operations teams

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
