Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cloud Engineer / AWS Engineer to support and maintain our hybrid infrastructure across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and on-premises VMware Cloud Director (VCD) environments. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day cloud operations, infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, backup management, documentation, and system administration while working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to build expertise in AWS cloud services, virtualization, enterprise infrastructure, automation, and cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day administration of AWS infrastructure including EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, VPC, Route 53, CloudWatch, Systems Manager (SSM), AWS Backup, and RDS.
- Monitor AWS resources to ensure availability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Assist in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud resources using AWS best practices.
- Support VMware Cloud Director (VCD) virtual infrastructure and assist with virtual machine provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Perform routine health checks for AWS and on-premises infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues involving Windows Servers, networking, storage, virtualization, and cloud services.
- Support backup and recovery operations using Veeam Backup & Replication and AWS Backup.
- Assist with disaster recovery testing and backup validation activities.
- Monitor infrastructure using CloudWatch, Grafana, and other enterprise monitoring tools.
- Perform routine patch validation and infrastructure maintenance activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
- Participate in incident, service request, and change management processes.
- Assist with infrastructure migrations, upgrades, restores and cloud optimization initiatives.
- Work with security teams to ensure compliance with security policies and AWS best practices.
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure engineers, and vendors to resolve operational issues.
- Participate in on-call support rotation when required.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Working knowledge of EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Route 53, and Systems Manager (SSM)
- Working knowledge of VMware virtualization
- Experience with Windows Server administration
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Working knowledge with Active Directory, GPO, ADCS,
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Fresh Service or relevant ITSM tools.
- Understanding of backup and recovery concepts
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and infrastructure health checks
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Any experience on Google Cloud will be good to have

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 2-4 years of experience in AWS or Infrastructure Administration.
- AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification is a plus.
- Good to have GCP and Azure Associate certification.
