Job summary

66degrees is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead design and delivery of Google Cloud-based solutions for enterprise clients. You will drive architecture, security, and cloud-native practices while guiding clients through complex transformation programs.

The role requires deep GCP expertise, strong communication, and a hands-on approach to building scalable, secure cloud environments. Willingness to travel and train teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of GCP experience and familiarity with other clouds is beneficial.
• GCP Architect Certification is required; additional Google/Kubernetes/Terraform certifications are a plus.
• Must have played 2+ years as a GCP Architect.
• Experience in building, architecting, and implementing distributed global cloud-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of security (zero trust) and networking in cloud environments.
• Ability to implement CI/CD practices using GitHub, GitLab, Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy; familiarity with GitOps/GitFlow.
• Experience with containerization using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and Artifact Registry.
• Experience with hybrid cloud deployments and on-prem-to-cloud migrations.

• Build trusted advisory relationships with strategic accounts and engage with management.
• Identify customer priorities and design strategies around the Google ecosystem to drive growth.
• Lead requirements gathering and project scoping.
• Design solutions and architecture diagrams for clients.
• Promote Google Cloud capabilities to clients, at conferences and online.
• Provide recommendations on integration strategies and enterprise architectures.
• Lead planning, status, and standup meetings.
• Travel to customer sites and events as required.

Overview of Role

66degrees is looking for creative, dedicated, and personable technology business professionals for a Cloud Architect position. We are looking for someone with a broad range of technical and consulting skills and aptitude. Our ideal candidate will display relentless curiosity and drive around how we organize ourselves and deploy/use technology to ensure our clients GCP environments are reliable and secure. We are looking for the right fit with our growing organization and we will invest in training.

Responsibilities

• Build a trusted advisory relationship with strategic accounts and engage with management.
• Identify customer priorities, technical objections, and design strategies encompassing the Google ecosystem to deliver business growth and resolve blockers.
• Lead requirements gathering and project scoping.
• Solution design, problem-solving, and architecture diagramming.
• Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and effectively promote Google Cloud with clients, at conferences, and online.
• Provide recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure needed to implement a complete solution for clients.
• Lead planning, status, and standup meetings.
• Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of GCP experience is a must. Experience in other clouds is beneficial.
• GCP Architect Certification required, other certifications for Google, Kubernetes, or Terraform a plus.
• Must have played 2+ years as a GCP Architect.
• Experience in building, architecting, designing, and implementing distributed global cloud-based systems.
• Extensive experience with security (zero trust) and networking in cloud environments
• Capable of advising and implementing CI/CD practices to clients using tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Cloud Build, and Cloud Deploy and concepts such as GitOps and GitFlow.
• Experience in containerising workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and Artifact Registry.
• Experience with structured Cloud Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premises-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
• Knowledge of technology solutions and ability to learn emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, engage and influence audiences.
• Excellent organisational skills and customer-facing communication.
• Proficiency in documentation and knowledge transfer using remote meetings, written documents, and technical diagrams slide decks.
• Experience in implementing hybrid connectivity using VPN or Cloud Interconnect is a plus.
