Job summary
Alignerr is seeking a Climate Data Specialist (AI Training) to design and evaluate advanced environmental science problems for AI models. This fully remote, hourly contract role suits researchers who want flexible scheduling and meaningful impact.
You will work on climate modeling, ecology, and sustainability datasets, review AI outputs for accuracy, and collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts. Requires a Master's or PhD, strong Python or R skills, and fluent English.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Ecology, Earth Systems, or related field.
- Strong experience with Python or R for research, data analysis, or modelling.
- Expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability science, or environmental data analysis.
- Excellent written communication and ability to explain complex science clearly.
- Fluent in English.

- Holds a Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Ecology, Earth Systems, or a closely related field
- Strong hands‑on experience with Python or R for research, data analysis, or modelling
- Deep expertise in at least one of: climate modeling, ecology, sustainability science, or environmental data analysis
- Exceptional written communication skills — you can explain complex science with clarity and precision
- Naturally detail‑oriented, rigorous, and self‑motivated when working independently
- Fluent in English
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
- Familiarity with large environmental datasets (e.g., ERA5, CMIP6, remote sensing data)
- Background in science communication, academic writing, or peer review
- Experience working across interdisciplinary teams or in research collaboration settings
- Work on cutting‑edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI teams
