Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking a Civil Engineer to contribute to the full lifecycle of our U.S. site development projects, from feasibility through construction execution. You will support site assessments, design development, and compliance activities under mentorship from senior engineers.

The role requires hands-on CAD skills and comfort working with U.S. counterparts, with responsibilities spanning grading, drainage, utility routing, and foundation design.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
• 3+ years in land development, industrial construction, or data center infrastructure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar BIM software.
• Knowledge of hydrology, soil mechanics, and reinforced concrete design.
• PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing site layouts, including grading plans, drainage systems, utility routing, and foundation design under senior engineer guidance.
• Conduct site assessments, gather geotechnical data, and contribute to environmental impact studies to support project viability determinations.
• Research and apply local zoning laws and building codes; support the permitting process with municipal and state agencies.
• Contribute to project schedules and budgets; assist with vendor coordination under senior oversight.
• Support structural calculations for specialized equipment housing (e.g., pads for cooling units, heavy electrical infrastructure).
• Coordinate with internal and external architectural, structural, and MEP design engineers.
• Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
• Create, review, and release design RFPs for various projects.
• Coordinate with environmental consultants and regulatory agencies on FEMA floodplain evaluations, wetland delineations, and permitting activities, including support for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers coordination as required.

• Conduct site assessments, gather geotechnical data, and contribute to environmental impact studies to support project viability determinations.

• Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site design for Data Centers and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop and lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, consistency and sustainability.
• Create, review, and release design RFPs for various projects
• Coordinate with environmental consultants and regulatory agencies on FEMA floodplain evaluations, wetland delineations, and permitting activities, including support for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers coordination as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in land development, industrial construction, or data center infrastructure.

Bonus Points :
