Job summary

Stantec's Pune office is seeking a Civil Designer to provide civil design (CAD/BIM) support on site civil and land development projects, ensuring that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, technical and quality standards meet client and STANTEC expectations.

You will use Civil3D, AutoCAD, and related software under the guidance of a Project Engineer, contributing to basic site layouts, site grading, drainage, and utility design while collaborating with drafting staff and engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil design and drafting using CAD/BIM software.
• Familiarity with site layouts, grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Ability to work under guidance of a Project Engineer and maintain client standards.

Primary Purpose of Job:

Stantec is an engineering design and remediation leader in global infrastructure, water resources, buildings, mining, power & dams, and oil & gas sectors. We provide, program management and technology solutions for the environmental, water, wastewater, energy and power markets in North Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions. Stantec’sPune, India office is looking for a Civil designer to join our team and work in Water group.

The role is to support project managers/team leaders by providing civil design (CAD/BIM) support on site civil and land development projects to ensure that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and STANTEC expectations. Design and documentation of projects under the instructions and guidance of a Project Engineer using Civil Engineering techniques utilizing software such as, but not limited to Autodesk Civil3D and AutoCAD in accordance with Client standards and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

• Preparation of basic site layouts, general arrangement drawings, site grading, plans and profiles, cut and fill calculations, site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management, shallow utilities, erosion & sediment control etc.


• Understand design and drafting systems and standards and design development process followed by clients and implement in work


• Provide design guidance and instruction to drafting staff, and junior/intermediate designers


• Travel offshore for training/on-site work: Occasionally


• Regularly interact and engage with other members of the discipline


• Build and develop professional profile both internally and externally


• Adherence to professional standards, ethics and Client quality procedures and standards


• Design of projects under the instructions of a PL’s or Lead Engineer using Civil engineering software such as, but not limited to, Autodesk Civil3D, Infraworks and AutoCAD


• Execute project modelling & detailing services


• Develop design skills and industry knowledge together with a consistent track record in performance


• Assist in development of tools and constant improvement to procedures and standards


• Attend project review meetings and ensure the provision of completed and reviewed drawings (self-verification checklists)


• Develop a reputation for reliability and consistency


• Invest conscious effort to develop effective written and verbal communication skills
