Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Mumbai seeks a seasoned treasury professional to lead currency risk management and hedging programs for Siemens’ South Asia businesses. You will coordinate with project managers and finance teams to assess FX exposure, structure hedges, and ensure regulatory and internal policy compliance.

The role emphasizes automation and digitalization of risk processes, with ongoing reporting of FX positions and hedging status.

Qualifications

• CA/Cost/MBA finance with 7+ years in treasury/FX exposure management.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for currency management tasks for businesses; advise on mitigating currency risk.
• Collate FX exposure and review project cash flows; initiate consolidated hedge requests with FX Trader.
• Provide rates for offer calculations and monitor significant contingent FX exposure monthly.
• Report monthly Net Foreign Currency Position and quarterly currency/commodity hedging status.
• Advise on Hedge Accounting and embedded derivatives; support accounting impact of FX transactions.
• Design and implement automated risk management processes; collaborate with regional currency teams.
• Liquidity management: placement of deposits; adhere to internal policies and optimize returns.

Functional Reporting to : Head – Risk Advisory within Global Treasury Risk Management (TRM) team based out of Germany

Coverage : Siemens Ltd, India’s all businesses: Digital industries, Smart Infrastructure, Mobility& Siemens Group Companies

Job Description: -

• First point of contact for all Currency Management tasks for businesses; Support the Business/Project Commercial Managers in the identification of foreign currency risks & advise on mitigation of such risk including assessing the level of risk mitigation in case of currency clause usage
• Collate foreign currency exposure from businesses, review project cash flows together with the Project Commercial Managers and initiate consolidated hedge requests to Fx Trader; Monitor the outstanding hedge book and give timely updates to Fx Trader to initiate rollovers/cancellations based on changes to underlying exposures and expected cashflow. Identifying & hedging Balance sheet exposures in line with Siemens policy
• Provide rates for offer calculation to the businesses and monitor significant contingent foreign currency exposure, post updating the offer calculation rate every month
• Report monthly Net Foreign Currency Position and also, on a quarterly basis, report to management on foreign currency & commodity exposure & hedging status
• Advise the Commercial Managers on the appropriate application of Hedge Accounting and the accounting impact of foreign currency transactions and support in the identification of Embedded Derivatives
• Management of Stakeholders - Must build transparency and trust across all partners; Collaborate effectively with business teams & other regional currency management teams outside India, implement standard methodologies, with a clear focus on digitalization & automation
• FX Dealing:
• Executing deals with banks and exchanges to hedge Siemens’ Fx & commodity exposure and managing Siemens’ hedge book

o Demonstrating proficiency and adhering to market best practices in all dealings in the market

• Managing reporting requirements in line with Central bank regulations and Siemens internal guidelines
• Continuously monitor and improve the existing Fx & commodity exposure management landscape by designing and implementing automated risk management processes
• Liquidity Management:
• Placement of deposits with banks or group companies / mutual funds – adhering to internal policies, counterparty limits and external regulations; achieving optimal returns on surplus funds by following best market practices

• You are a qualified Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant or have completed a university Master’s degree in business administration (with specialization in finance) or a similar field
• You bring at least 7+ years of professional experience in a corporate treasury/finance environment, preferably in areas of foreign exchange & commodity risk exposure management and/or business commercial / project finance
• Experience in crafting and optimizing processes is required, preferably within a digitalization & automation context
• Experience in project management by delivering projects by yourself beyond daily operational tasks
• Ability to manage multiple partners’ expectations. Intense collaboration with the businesses will be the key
• Good knowledge of accounting incl hedge accounting required. Proficient in SAP & MS office suite
