Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking a Chemistry Specialist (Masters/PhDs) to help train AI models by designing rigorous, real-world chemistry problems that push AI to reason more accurately about complex science.

This fully remote, flexible hourly contract targets working scientists, postdocs, and researchers who want to apply deep chemistry knowledge with no prior AI background required. 10-40 hours/week, fully self-paced.

Qualifications

• Holds a Master’s or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Deep expertise in at least one of: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry.
• Comfortable working with Python or computational chemistry tools such as Gaussian, VASP, or similar.
• Exceptionally clear written communicator - you can explain complex science precisely and accessibly.
• Detail-oriented and methodical - you hold your work to a high scientific standard.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Design, solve, and review advanced chemistry problems with genuine scientific depth and real-world relevance.
• Apply your expertise in organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry to craft complex, multi-step problem statements.
• Evaluate AI-generated chemistry reasoning for scientific accuracy, rigor, and clarity.
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance model performance.
