What You Will Do
We are looking for a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to lead AiA's US Tax Practice and collaborate with our product and engineering teams. You will manage client operations, define scalable processes, and provide continuous feedback to help shape our tax technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Client Operations
- Lead and manage US tax preparation and filing for individuals and SMBs (1040, 1065, 1120S, etc.).
- Build and oversee SOPs, review workflows, and quality‑check systems for tax accuracy and compliance.
- Handle client onboarding, documentation, and compliance processes end‑to‑end.
Leadership & Scaling
- Establish and scale AiA's US Taxation Division including team structure, training, and process documentation.
- Hire, mentor, and guide a team of tax preparers and associates.
- Plan for seasonal workload spikes and build systems for client retention and service excellence.
Product Collaboration
- Partner with product managers and engineers to translate CPA workflows into intuitive digital experiences.
- Share insights from real‑world client work to refine automation logic, test prototypes, and enhance user flows.
- Contribute to development of features such as form mapping (1040, K‑1, W‑2), data parsing, and compliance checks.
- Identify automation and process‑optimization opportunities to make tax prep faster and smarter.
Strategic Input
- Advise leadership on IRS compliance frameworks, e‑file partnerships, and regulatory considerations.
- Represent the voice of the customer within the product team ensuring every enhancement solves a real CPA pain point.
Requirements
- Active CPA license (mandatory).
- 5‑10 years of experience in US tax preparation and advisory for individuals and small businesses.
- Proven experience managing 1040, 1065, and 1120S returns.
- Hands‑on experience with tax software such as Drake, Lacerte, UltraTax, or ProConnect.
- Track record of leading teams or managing 80+ returns per year.
- Excellent understanding of US tax laws, compliance, and client communication.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with a passion for efficiency and innovation.
- Bonus: Experience with fintech, automation tools, or AI‑driven tax tech platforms.
