Job summary

R1RCM in Chennai is seeking a Medical Coding Certified Fresher to join our healthcare RCM team. You will assign ICD-10 and CPT codes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with government and insurer regulations, under supervision.

Ideal candidates hold CPC/CPC-A/CCS/COC certifications and have strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. This role offers growth within a global revenue cycle management platform and a collaborative, learning-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Education – Any Graduate.
• Successful completion of AHIMA or AAPC certification.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 & CPT codes and procedures.
• Solid oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT.
• Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced per regulations.
• Follow up with providers on unclear documentation.
• Communicate with clinical staff regarding documentation.
• Search for information when coding is complex.
• Receive and review patient charts for accuracy.
• Review previous day's notes for evaluation and coding.
• Ensure all codes are current and active.

• Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations.
• Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear.
• Communicate with other clinical staff regarding documentation.
• Search for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual.
• Receive and review patient charts and documents for accuracy.
• Review the previous day's batch of patient notes for evaluation and coding.
• Ensure that all codes are current and active.

Requirements

• Education – Any Graduate.
• Successful completion of a certification program from AHIMA or AAPC.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 & CPT codes and procedures.
• Solid oral and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently.
