Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Certification Engineer to manage product certifications and ensure compliance with applicable standards. You will interact with international and national bodies, review lab testing, and support ISO17025 compliant processes.

You will coordinate testing across EMC, Surge, and Environmental labs, prepare LVD/CE assessments, and collaborate with group companies on certification activities to enable release of new and sustain products.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electronics/Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics/Mechatronics.
• 5-7 Years of Experience on Certification and Testing for Industrial Products, into Hazardous Areas.
• Experience with IEC 60079 series of standards and related regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with certification agencies like SGS, UL, CSA, FM, BIS and PESO for approvals.
• Prepare CE-LVD assessment reports for sustain and new products as per EN standards.
• Coordinate product testing activities and review reports in EMC, Surge and Env. tests labs.
• Develop and sustain lab procedures to comply with ISO17025.
• Support LVD assessments and testing for group company products.

Job description

This role (Certification Engineer) will be responsible for Certification of products and ensuring the product complies with the requirements of the standards. This role will be responsible to inetract with several International and National Certification bodies and obtain Product Certifications. This will also need reviewing and supporting the engineers at the in-house type testing laboratories (EMC, Surge and Environmental) for regular laboratory activities. Maintaining the lab procedures for its compliance to ISO17025. Responsible in implementing the documentation with respect to laboratory standards. CE compliance and LVD assessments for sustain and new products being testing at the laboratories and support with the assessments within group companies.

The candidate in this position will be responsible to:

• Coordinates with Certification agencies like SGS, UL, CSA, FM, BIS and PESO for the approvals.
• Work on Hazardous location Certification as per EN 60079-0, EN 60079-1, EN 60079-11, EN60079-18 & EN 60079-7.
• Independently prepare CE- LVD assessment reports for sustain, new and support for products from group companies as per EN 61643-11, EN 6143-21, EN 61643-31, EN 62368-1, EN 61010-1, EN 61010-2-201.
• Coordinate product testing activities and review the reports in the type testing laboratories (EMC, Surge and Env. Test) before the Certification.
• Develops procedures and process to setup and sustain the laboratories.
• Good understanding on Surge and EMC standards

Qualifications:

B.E/B.Tech in Electronics/ Mechanical /Electrical & Electronics/ Mechatronics

5-7 Years of Experience on Certification and Testing for Industrial Products, into Hazardous Areas.

Skills:

High Competency:

• Working experience and able to independently work on product Certification for products which goes into Hazardous Areas.
• Working experience on IEC 60079 series of standards.
• Good knowledge on the EU LVD Directive and related standards.
• Testing skills like functional & environmental type tests and reliability testing.
• Support and Review LVD assessment and test products for compliance.
• Good technical expertise on working with external agencies like SGS, UL, CSA, FM etc.,
• Able to develop SOPs and review the test reports.
• Working experience on North American approvals (Ordinary Location and (or) Haz. Locations).
• Exposure on the products related to Surge protection and Process control instrumentation.
• Drive for Results, Passionate, Collaborative, Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.
