Job description

We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Class A CDL Driver to support our construction operations throughout Central Florida. This is a hands on position responsible for transporting construction equipment, materials, and supplies between jobsites, assisting with loading and unloading, and helping keep our equipment operations running efficiently.

The ideal candidate has experience hauling equipment on flatbed trailers, securing loads properly, operating construction equipment, and adapting to changing jobsite needs. This individual will play a key role in keeping projects moving by ensuring equipment and materials get where they need to be, when they are needed.

This is more than a driving position. We need someone who is flexible, resourceful, and willing to jump in wherever needed to support the team.

  • Transport equipment and materials: Drive company trucks and tow trailers ranging from 12 to 30 feet in length to transport construction equipment and materials between jobsites throughout Central Florida, while also safely securing equipment and materials using ratchet straps, tie-downs, and other appropriate securement methods.
  • Loading and unloading: Independently or collaboratively load and unload equipment and materials at construction jobsites, using appropriate equipment when necessary.
  • Operate construction equipment: Safely operate equipment such as skid steers, lull forklifts, excavators, and other machinery to assist with loading, unloading, and jobsite needs.
  • Perform daily inspections: Complete pre trip and post trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and applicable equipment to identify safety concerns and ensure proper operating condition.
  • Coordinate jobsite deliveries and pickups: Respond to requests from field engineers, project engineers, project managers, superintendents, and other team members to transport equipment and materials as needed.
  • Adapt to changing schedules: Adjust routes and priorities when equipment is not ready for pickup, jobsite needs change, or urgent requests arise.
  • Support equipment operations: Help coordinate equipment transportation so the equipment repair team can focus on maintenance and repairs rather than traveling between jobsites.
  • Maintain safety and organization: Ensure loads are properly secured, equipment is handled safely, and company vehicles and trailers are kept in good condition.
  • Provide general operational support: Assist wherever needed to keep construction operations moving efficiently.
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • A clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices
  • Previous experience driving flatbed trucks and hauling construction equipment or materials
  • Demonstrated ability to properly secure loads using ratchet straps, tie downs, and other load securement equipment
  • Experience loading and unloading trailers independently and with assistance
  • Ability to safely tow trailers and transport heavy equipment, with hauling requirements of up to 43,500 lbs, subject to the truck, trailer, and applicable legal weight limits
  • Experience operating construction equipment, including skid steers, lull forklifts, or similar machinery
  • Ability to perform pre trip inspections and identify potential equipment or vehicle issues
  • Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and communicate effectively with field and project teams
  • Willingness to travel throughout Central Florida and work extended hours when operational needs require it
  • Ability to assist with physically demanding tasks associated with loading, unloading, and securing materials
  • Employer paid basic medical, optional dental and vision plans, optional Aflac coverage and employer paid life insurance
  • Pet insurance
  • Employer-provided training for continued education
  • 401(k)
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment focused on personal and professional growth
