Caterpillar Bengaluru is seeking a logistics/procurement professional to maximize external supplier performance by understanding the supply network and ensuring timely shipments. The role focuses on aligning supplier requirements, reducing past-due schedules, and maintaining optimal inventory levels across the network.

Job Summary

This role maximizes external supplier performance by understanding the supply network.

What You Will Do

• Act as the focal point for suppliers and follow up on requirements to minimize past due schedules.
• Manage inventory to prevent excess material within the network.
• Review and act on schedule releases and follow up for on-time shipments.
• Work with global purchasing buyers and purchasing analysts on problem parts.

Key Capabilities

• Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to complete tasks with high precision.

• Problem solving, including identifying, documenting and resolving operational or process problems.
• Distribution requirements planning (DRP) knowledge, including managing inventory across plants or warehouses.
• Logistics management, covering inbound and outbound movement of materials and finished products.
• Understanding of manufacturing application systems and the information flow across the manufacturing process and supply chain.
• Knowledge of materials handling and management, including raw and hazardous materials.
• Supplier management, including monitoring performance, developing quality standards and maintaining supplier partnerships.
