The role requires 5–9 years in category management or indirect procurement, strong negotiation, and familiarity with SAP Ariba or Coupa. English communication and a reliable remote-work setup are valued.

Qualifications

Category Manager

A leading European manufacturer establishing its India shared-services centre for indirect procurement across plant and packaging categories

Location: Gurugram, India — on-site

About the Company

A leading European manufacturer is setting up its India shared-services centre for indirect and packaging procurement and has partnered with Flexiple to hire. You will manage supplier relationships and category strategy for a multi-plant spend base that spans raw materials, packaging, and MRO. Flexiple is a managed marketplace that helps global companies build high-performing teams and GCCs in India.

Role Overview

As a Category Manager, you will lead sourcing strategy for your assigned categories, working closely with plant procurement teams and global category leads to secure cost, quality, and supply continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy and Sourcing

• Develop and execute category sourcing strategies for indirect and packaging spend
• Run RFPs, tenders, and supplier evaluations across multiple plants
• Track category savings, cost-avoidance, and supplier performance against targets

Supplier and Stakeholder Management

• Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships across raw material, packaging, and MRO vendors
• Partner with plant heads and quality teams to resolve supply and compliance issues
• Present category performance and risk reviews to regional procurement leadership

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 5 to 9 years in category management, strategic sourcing, or indirect procurement, ideally in a manufacturing environment
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing multi-plant or multi-site spend
• Comfortable with ERP or procurement systems such as SAP Ariba or Coupa, and spend analytics
• Clear written and spoken English and a reliable remote-work setup

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience sourcing packaging, MRO, or raw materials for a manufacturing or industrial company
• An engineering or business degree, with an MBA or supply chain certification a plus
