Job description

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Supplier Quality Assurance: Ensure the receipt of high-quality parts and services from suppliers through robust supplier evaluations, audits, and compliance checks.
  • Supplier Development: Facilitate, handhold, and upgrade Supply Chain Partners (SCPs) through training and special capability improvement projects.
  • Quality Sustenance: Secure quality and delivery sustenance for new model launches, multi-sourcing setups, and mass production.
A Day in the life

You will be working on day-to-day basis on following:

  • Product & Process Auditing: Conducting routine and sporadic product and process audits at supplier locations. This includes verifying PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) reports against marked samples, checking TA markings, and verifying COP and emission parameters.
  • Component Inspection & Disposal: Inspecting parts that have reached the end of their Die & Mold life to authorize proper disposal.
  • Defect & Root Cause Analysis: Identifying and validating root causes for product nonconformance found across incoming lots, FI, MI, BUQI, and warranty defects. You will also handle VTQI and KD analysis.
  • Action Plan Implementation: Developing, implementing, and monitoring the effectiveness of action plans to resolve quality issues. This involves ensuring that Supply Chain Partners (SCPs) submit and receive approval for Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) against Quality Failure Reports (QFRs).
  • Supplier Development & Upgradation: Providing handholding, facilitation, and upgradation support to SCPs. This includes planning and executing IMP projects or special initiatives to improve the QA rate and PIST of critical parts.
  • Mass Production Quality Sustenance: Working daily to ensure that quality standards and delivery timelines are strictly maintained during mass production (MP)
  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication: Aligning and managing relationships across various internal and external stakeholders, navigating conflicting viewpoints, and proposing data-backed solutions to maintain smooth operations
Academic Qualification & Experience
  • Education :B.Tech or Diploma in Metallurgical or Paint Engineering
  • Experience: 4 to 8 years of experience, including exposure across different functions and departments
Technical Skills/Knowledge
  • Metallurgical and Paint Processes: In-depth product and process knowledge specifically tailored to metallurgical and paint engineering.
  • Quality Core Tools: Proficiency in Lab FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis).
  • Expert Auditing Skills: Advanced capability to conduct product, process, multi-sourcing, and change management audits at the supplier end.
  • Advanced Structured Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and validate effectiveness monitoring for product nonconformances.
  • Engineering Design & Validation: Comprehensive knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), engineering design, and tool design & validation
