Job summary

IQ City Foundation in Durgapur, West Bengal, is seeking a cardiologist to diagnose and manage patients with cardiovascular diseases, perform outpatient consultations, inpatient rounds, and handle emergencies.

The role includes ECG, echocardiography, and other cardiac investigations, developing treatment plans, coordinating care with other specialties, maintaining records, and participating in audits and CME activities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with cardiovascular diseases and related conditions.
• Conduct outpatient consultations, inpatient rounds, emergency consultations, and follow-up care.
• Perform and interpret ECG, Echocardiography, TMT, Holter monitoring, and other relevant cardiac investigations as per qualification and hospital privileges.
• Manage acute cardiac emergencies, including acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmias, heart failure, and other critical cardiac conditions.
• Develop appropriate treatment plans and monitor patient response to treatment.
• Coordinate with other specialties for multidisciplinary patient management.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records, clinical notes, discharge summaries, and investigation reports.
• Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection-control practices, patient-safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement activities, CME programmes, and departmental meetings.
• Guide and support junior doctors, residents, and clinical staff in patient management.
• Ensure appropriate counselling of patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, risks, and follow-up.
• Participate in on‑call and emergency duties as assigned by the hospital.
• Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality, and effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.
