Job summary

Applus+ IDIADA is seeking a CAE engineer to lead mesh modeling and crash analyses for interior components. The role requires LS-DYNA expertise, setup of non-linear analyses and interaction with OEM teams.

You will plan CAE activities, review results with project teams and contribute to design reviews, while working in a global automotive engineering environment.

Qualifications

• BE/ME in Mechanical engineering.
• Experience in CAE analysis and crash simulations.
• Knowledge of interior components and associated fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Perform mesh modeling and assembly for IP, console and door panels.
• Conduct LS-DYNA based crash analyses and dynamic simulations.
• Define CAE work content and planning with PM/OEM input.
• Present results and participate in design reviews with program teams.

Job Description

• Mesh Model Building and assembly - Instrument Panel, Center Console and Door Panel
• Knowledge of products - IP, Console, Door Trims, Pillar trims, Latches, Foams, Dog house, Heat Stakes, Snaps, Clip towers, Vibration welds, Ultrasonic welds
• Shell meshing, Solid meshing skills for complex features and shapes of parts.
• Knowledge of Kinematic Joints, Connectivity, Attachments their Deg of Freedom, also Kinematic & Dynamic Contacts definition for LS‑DYNA Model.
• Non-Linear-Quasi-static & Non-Linear-Dynamic Impact Analysis – LS DYNA
• Able to build Model for Crash analysis, all type of interior fixation e.g. Clips, snaps, doghouses able to represent appropriately for Crash analysis.
• Head Impact – ECE‑R21 – IS15223/ FMVSS 201
• Door Trim Side impact- Thorax, Pelvis, Abdomen Impactors
• Dynamic PAB Deployment simulation
• Knee impact Static and Dynamic stiffness study.
• Define CAE work content based on requirement analysis with help of his manager.
• Define CAE planning based on input data.
• Analyse and finalise product specifications to be followed for CAE analysis with agreement from PM and or OEM
• Communication with all SH
• Participate in the design review meetings with the program team.
• Share results and arranging regular results reviews with program team and OEM.
• To uphold & abide by code of ethics & Management
