Job summary

WSP India is seeking a CAD Technician to create and edit drawings in line with global CAD standards, while supervising CAD Technicians to ensure high-quality output. The role supports engineers, coordinates with the CAD team and ensures proper filing and submission of drawings.

The candidate should have CAD/Drawing experience, familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation, and be capable of maintaining quality across multiple projects within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Diploma in CAD or related qualification.
• Experience in CAD drafting and BIM tasks.
• Ability to supervise CAD Technicians.
• Familiarity with international CAD standards.

Responsibilities

• Handle basic CAD and BIM design tasks per Engineer instructions.
• Draft for a specific discipline with adherence to standards.
• Provide supervision, coordination and support to CAD Technicians.
• Review drawings to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Convert CAD drawings to other formats (e.g., DWF, PDF) as required for submissions.
• Ensure drawings are issued, revised, checked and filed properly.
• Coordinate with Engineers and CAD Coordinator; assist iCRCs CAD team as needed.
• Generate sections, schedules and schematics from general arrangement drawings.

The CAD Technician role will include creation and editing of drawings in compliance with WSP global CAD Standards and detailing practices as well as supervision of CAD Technicians and ensuring high quality output.

• Responsible for basic CAD and BIM design tasks as directed by the Engineer.
• Responsible for all drafting for a particular discipline
• Supervise, coordinate and support CAD Technicians in workload, good detailing practice and work procedures.
• Review and monitor the production of drawings to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Creation and editing of drawings & sketches in compliance with WSP's international CAD Standards, widely used detailing practices and agreed schedules.
• Completion of CAD tasks received from Engineers and CAD Coordinator Coordinate and support the Complementary Resources Centers (iCRCs) CAD team Generate sections / schedules / schematics drawings from general arrangement drawings
• Ensure drawings are issued, revised appropriately, checked thoroughly, signed by approving supervisor and filed in an appropriate manner Conversion of ACAD drawings to other formats such as DWF & PDF as and when required for submissions.
• Diploma in Cad
• Experience of having worked in a similar role.
• Competence in AutoCAD/Revit/Micro station/RCD/Cads RC.
