Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Chennai seeks an experienced CAD drafter to prepare RCC GAD drawings and rebar detailing for concrete structures. You will create 2D reinforcement drawings in AutoCAD (A0/A1), ensure HCIC/EDRC standards, maintain drawing registers, and support design engineers with clarifications.

The role focuses on drafting accuracy, standardization of blocks and layers, timely delivery, and collaboration with BIM, MEP, and geotech teams to resolve interface issues.

Qualifications

• Prepare RCC 2D drawings and GADs as per HCIC standards and client inputs.
• Drafting standards: blocks, revision history, layers, scales, fonts, symbols.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision tracking, and storage.
• Develop AutoCAD blocks for repetitive elements and add True North in GADs.
• Coordinate with design engineers, BIM teams, and MEP for inputs and checks.
• Ensure timely delivery of RCC GAD and rebar detailing drawings per schedule.

Job description

• Preparation of RCC 2D Drawings & Rebar Detailing- Prepare General Arrangement (GAD), 2D numeration, and detailed reinforcement drawings for concrete structures in AutoCAD (A0/A1 size), in compliance with EDRC HCIC standards, client specifications, and Engineer’s design inputs.2) Drafting Standards & Compliance - Ensure adherence to drawing standards including title blocks, revision history, layers, scales, Fonts, Symbols, Abbreviations, sheet size selection, and inclusion of engineering & construction reference drawings.3) Documentation & Drawing Control Management- Maintain updated drawing registers, Reference drawing lists, Revision tracking, check prints, and ensure proper organization, storage of the drawings in the respective folder paths. 4) Efficiency & Drafting Optimization- Develop and maintain AutoCAD blocks for repetitive elements, incorporate True North in GADs, and interface effectively with design software to enhance drafting efficiency and consistency`5) Design Coordination & Technical Clarifications - Collaborate with Design Engineers, BIM teams, Geotech & Inter-departmental teams (MEP, etc.) to understand design inputs & perform interference checks. 6) Drawing Productivity & Timely Deliverables- Ensure timely preparation and issue of RCC GAD and Rebar detailing drawings as per project schedules while maintaining drafting productivity, accuracy, quality, and minimal rework.
