Job summary

Barclays in Pune is seeking a Caching Engineering Lead to drive evolution of our digital landscape, focusing on caching architectures, Redis/GridGain, and distributed systems to deliver scalable, high-availability services.

You will lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and implement Observability with Prometheus and Grafana; excellent English communication and a formal graduation are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with caching and distributed cache architecture including Redis/GridGain.
• Experience with DevOps tools: Git, JIRA, Ansible, Containers and Kubernetes (OpenShift) and CI/CD tools.
• Experience implementing Redis container patterns on Kubernetes via a Redis operator or Helm chart.
• Ability to drive architectural decisions and mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience with Observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with large, distributed, high-availability infrastructure with 24/7 uptime.
• Strong Python, Ansible and Kafka knowledge.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Minimum full-time graduation degree.
• Valued: experience in financial services and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Knowledge of Chef/Ansible for database server configurations and REST API development.

To be successful in this role as a Caching Engineering Lead you should possess the following skillsets:

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience of Caching and Distributed cache architecture, with exposure to technologies such as Redis, GridGain, or similar caching platforms.

• Experience with DevOps automation tools such as Code versioning (git), JIRA, Ansible, Containers and Kubernetes (OpenShift), database CI/CD tools and their implementation

• Experience in implementing Redis Container patterns on Kubernetes with the help of a Redis operator or a Helm chart

Purpose of the role

To apply software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response, to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology through them.

Accountabilities
