Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking a firmware-focused engineer with strong C++11 and Linux systems programming skills to work on hardware media pipelines. You will analyze video formats and streaming technologies while collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality media solutions.

Experience with GStreamer/FFmpeg and hands-on debugging will be valued. The role emphasizes problem-solving, communication, and teamwork within a dynamic global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or a related program) or equivalent work experience.
• Strong knowledge of C++11 and Linux system programming.
• Experience with firmware development for hardware media pipelines.
• Familiarity with video streaming technologies (MPEG-DASH, HLS, progressive download).
• Knowledge of audio/video formats (H264, H265, AV1, MP4, CMAF, TS) and analysis tools.
• Understanding of SoC architecture and debugging techniques.
• Good communication, problem solving, and teamwork abilities.

Highly proficient in C++11
Highly proficient in Linux system programming (IPC multi-processing, multi-threading, debugging/core dump analysis etc)
Good Debugging skills
Knowledge in the video streaming technologies (MPEG-DASH, HLS, Progressive Download, etc)
Knowledge on different audio/video formats (h264, H265, AV1, mp4, cmaf, ts, etc) and on tools to analyze them
Knowledge on SoC architecture.
Experience in developing firmware for hardware media pipeline
Good communication, problem solving skills and team player.

Highly Desirable

Digital Rights Management (Widevine, Playready, FairPlay) & Trusted Execution Environment.
Knowledge in multimedia frameworks like gstreamer, ffmpeg, etc
Experience in Web playback technologies (MSE & EME)
