Intellectual Capital HR Consulting Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Equity Research Analyst to join a leading buy-side investment firm in Mumbai.

The ideal candidate will cover the BFSI sector, conduct in-depth fundamental research, and support investment decisions across listed Indian equities. Candidates must have prior buy-side exposure (PMS, AMC, AIF, Family Office or similar). Strong financial modelling, valuation skills, and knowledge of banking, NBFCs, insurance, and capital markets

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of relevant equity research experience in BFSI
• Mandatory buy-side experience with a PMS, AMC, AIF, Family Office, or similar investment management platform
• Strong knowledge of BFSI including banking, NBFCs, insurance, and capital markets

• Conduct detailed fundamental research and financial analysis on BFSI companies
• Build and maintain financial and valuation models and investment frameworks
• Generate actionable investment ideas with rigorous research and channel checks
• Track industry trends, regulatory developments, macroeconomic factors and company events
• Prepare investment notes, earnings updates, and sector reports
• Meet with management, industry experts and market participants for insights
• Present investment recommendations to investment committee and portfolio managers
• Monitor portfolio holdings and update on thesis and risks
• Collaborate with investment team to support portfolio construction

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Equity Research Analyst to join a leading buy-side investment firm. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in covering the Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) sector and will be responsible for conducting in-depth fundamental research to support investment decisions across listed Indian equities.

Candidates must have prior experience working with a buy-side investment platform, such as a Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Asset Management Company (AMC), Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), Family Office, or a similar investment management firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed fundamental research and financial analysis on companies within the BFSI sector.
• Build and maintain financial models, valuation models, and investment frameworks.
• Generate actionable investment ideas backed by rigorous research and channel checks.
• Track industry trends, regulatory developments, macroeconomic factors, and company-specific events impacting the BFSI sector.
• Prepare investment notes, earnings updates, and sector reports.
• Meet with company management teams, industry experts, and other market participants to gain investment insights.
• Present investment recommendations to the investment committee and portfolio managers.
• Monitor portfolio holdings and provide timely updates on investment thesis and risks.
• Collaborate closely with the investment team to support portfolio construction and investment decisions.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 4–5+ years of relevant equity research experience covering the BFSI sector.
• Mandatory buy-side experience with a PMS, AMC, AIF, Family Office, or similar investment management platform.
• Strong understanding of banking, NBFCs, insurance, capital markets, and other financial services businesses.
• Excellent financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, and investment research methodologies.
• Ability to independently generate investment ideas and articulate investment theses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• CFA, CA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualifications will be an added advantage.

Preferred Background

• Current or prior experience with a buy-side investment firm is mandatory.
• Experience covering listed Indian BFSI companies.
• Demonstrated track record of producing high-quality investment research and actionable recommendations.
