Job summary

Amazon Dev Center India – Hyderabad is seeking a Business Analyst in Finance Analytics to work with terabytes of data, creating datasets, reports, dashboards, and metadata models. You will interact with finance and capacity planning teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions from Day 1.

You will translate analytic insights into concrete recommendations and design new analytic technologies, promoting best practices while tuning queries against large datasets for actionable

Qualifications

• 1+ years in tax, finance or a related analytical field.
• 2+ years of complex Excel VBA macros writing experience.
• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.

Our mission at Finance Analytics is to provide complete and accurate data for financial and business reporting and analytics. As such, Finance Analytics designs, builds, maintains and enhances scalable systems that provide accurate data as well as actionable insights to the business. As a Business Analyst in Finance Analytics, you will be responsible for working with terabytes of data to develop automated and self service scalable solutions for Finance and Business Partners. You will be responsible for building a robust set of operational, financial and business metrics,requirements documentation and will utilize metrics to determine improvement opportunities. From Day 1, you will be challenged with a variety of tasks, ranging from creating datasets, reports, dashboards to metadata modeling, pipeline monitoring. You will interact with internal program, finance, Operation and Capacity planning team, and technical teams to gather requirements, structure scalable and perform data solutions, and gain a deep understanding of key datasets. You will design, implement and drive adoption of new analytic technologies and solutions and promote industry standard best practices. You will be responsible to tune query performance against large and complex data sets. You will help translate analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for business or product improvement.

Key job responsibilities

• Gather business requirements, document specifications, identify appropriate resources needed, assemble the right project team, assign individual responsibilities, and develop the milestones and launch schedule to ensure timely and successful delivery of the project.


• Will have relevant experience in data analytics working with large data sets and to extract and transform data using various tools and technologies (SQL, Excel, other data management tool).


• Will transform data into actionable business information, and will make it readily accessible to stakeholders. Will be very comfortable juggling competing priorities and handling ambiguity


• Will thrive in an agile and fast-paced environment on highly visible projects and initiatives.


• Design and implement reporting solutions and dashboards to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.


• Support cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of the existing program implementation.


• Will have good business and communication skills to be able to work with product owners to understand key business questions to build reports that enable product owners to answer those questions quickly and accurately

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating complex SQL queries joining multiple datasets, ETL DW concepts


• Experience using very large datasets


• Knowledge of SQL
