Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an engineer drafter with strong CADD skills to prepare basic to moderately complex drawings using intelligent modeling. The role involves coordinating with vendors and performing technical support tasks, while travel may be required depending on project needs.

The candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent with vocational CADD training and at least four years of related experience. This position supports field assignments and adheres to project deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 4 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, prepares basic to moderately complex engineering and construction drawings using intelligent modeling and/or CADD which may include multiple views, detail drawings, general arrangement/layout drawings through proper translation of level of design (LOD) definitions as applicable.
• Utilizes information from vendors, catalogs, technical manuals, etc. in the preparation of intelligent models and construction drawings.
• Performs CADD/technical support tasks such as verifying intelligent model integrity plotting drawings, assembling drawing packages, preparing transmittals, preparing overnight packages, file management and/or filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, and coordinating specifications with drawings, etc.
• Under direct supervision, performs basic engineering calculations using accepted formulas and references.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Supports field assignments as required.

Skills & Abilities

Good communication skills with strict attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to be a team player and contributor to the overall team. Possesses strong working knowledge of core Intelligent Modeling/CADD applications. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office for design related tasks primarily within the Intelligent Modeling/CADD environment.

Background Check and Drug Testing Information

Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.

Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
