Job Title: Branch Credit Manager (BCM)
Role Overview
The Branch Credit Manager (BCM) is responsible forevaluating and underwriting secured business loan proposals, primarily LoanAgainst Property (LAP), while ensuring compliance with internal credit policiesand regulatory guidelines. The role involves independent assessment of borrowerrepayment capacity, property valuation review, risk identification, andrecommendation of quality credit proposals to support profitable portfoliogrowth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Credit Appraisal & Underwriting
- Assessloan applications for eligibility, repayment capacity, and overallcreditworthiness.
- Analysefinancial statements, bank statements, GST returns, income documents, andbusiness cash flows.
- Evaluateborrower profile, business stability, and repayment behaviour.
- Conductdetailed credit risk assessment and prepare credit recommendation notes.
2. Property & Collateral Assessment
- Reviewlegal, technical, and valuation reports for proposed collateral.
- Assessproperty ownership, marketability, and security coverage.
- Identifyrisks related to title, encumbrances, and valuation discrepancies.
- Ensurecollateral adequacy as per lending policies.
- Conductpersonal discussions with applicants and co-applicants.
- Verifybusiness operations, income sources, and end-use requirements.
- Performfield visits wherever required.
- Validateinformation submitted by customers and sourcing teams.
4. Credit Process & Compliance
- Ensureadherence to RBI guidelines and internal credit policies.
- Maintaincomplete credit documentation and audit-ready records.
- Monitorcompliance with delegated authority limits and approval conditions.
- Supportinternal, statutory, and regulatory audits.
- Trackportfolio quality and early warning indicators.
- Reviewdelinquent accounts and identify potential stress cases.
- Recommendcorrective actions for risk mitigation.
- Coordinatewith collections and business teams for portfolio management.
6. Stakeholder Coordination
- Workclosely with Relationship Managers, Operations, Legal, Technical, andCollections teams.
- Provideguidance to sourcing teams on policy requirements and case structuring.
- Supportfaster turnaround time (TAT) while maintaining credit quality standards.

Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate/ Postgraduate in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Banking, or Management.
- CAInter / MBA Finance / Relevant Credit Certification preferred.
- 2–8years of experience in LAP, Mortgage, Secured Business Loans, SME Lending,or Credit Underwriting with Banks/NBFCs.
- Strongunderstanding of financial analysis and secured lending products.
