Job summary

M&G India, the strategic innovation and digital hub, seeks an accounting professional in Mumbai to manage end-to-end accounting and reporting for a designated product. You will translate design outputs into clear accounting requirements and contribute to robust reconciliations and governance.

The role emphasizes collaboration with business and technology teams to reduce manual tasks and strengthen controls, with a focus on timely reporting and detailed documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting and reporting for allocated product from data to journals and disclosures.
• Translate design outputs and operating model changes into accounting requirements, controls and delivery plans.
• Prepare and review reporting outputs and balance sheet substantiation within timetable.
• Design and operate reconciliations between admin, investment, actuarial and GL data and resolve issues.
• Support testing, dress rehearsals and post-launch stabilisation with clear defect tracking.
• Maintain robust documentation including accounting papers and data lineage.
• Partner with business and technology teams to embed sustainable BAU processes.
• Escalate risks, control weaknesses and data quality issues to governance routes.

• Own the end-to-end accounting and reporting requirements for the allocated product, from source data through journals, reconciliations, disclosures and management information.
• Translate product design, actuarial outputs and operating model changes into clear accounting requirements, process maps, controls and delivery plans.
• Prepare and review reporting outputs, balance sheet substantiation and supporting analysis in line with the agreed reporting timetable.
• Design and operate reconciliations between administration, investment, actuarial and general ledger data, investigating and resolving breaks promptly.
• Support testing, dress rehearsals, implementation and post-launch stabilisation, with clear defect, issue and decision tracking.
• Maintain robust documentation, including accounting papers, procedures, control evidence, data lineage and handover materials.
• Partner with business and technology teams to reduce manual intervention and embed sustainable business-as-usual processes.

Escalate material risks, control weaknesses, data quality issues and delivery dependencies through the agreed governance routes.
