Job summary

10XTD is seeking a Consultant with practical experience in Dell Boomi integration development and knowledge of EDI standards. The candidate will develop, configure, test, and support EDI integrations using Boomi.

Responsibilities include EDI mapping, profile configuration, trading partner setup, and troubleshooting, working with senior developers and technical leads. The role requires hands-on experience with Boomi AtomSphere, ANSI X12, and EDIFACT, along with AS2/SFTP/FTP connectivity, XML/JSON

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a Consultant with practical experience in Boomi integration development and knowledge of EDI standards. The candidate will develop, configure, test, and support EDI integrations using Boomi. Responsibilities include EDI mapping, profile configuration, trading partner setup, process development, document validation, and troubleshooting, working with senior developers and technical leads.

2. Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain inbound and outbound EDI integration processes using Boomi AtomSphere.
• Create and update EDI maps based on trading partner specifications and approved mapping requirements.
• Configure EDI profiles, connectors, and trading partner components under established design guidance.
• Work with EDI document parsing, envelope structures, segment and element validation, and control numbers.
• Develop mappings between EDI, XML, JSON, and flat-file formats.
• Build Boomi processes using Maps, Profiles, Connectors, Decision, Business Rules, and Data Process shapes.
• Implement basic data validation, transformation, exception handling, and error notifications.
• Configure or support AS2, SFTP, and FTP connectivity with guidance from senior team members.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, EDI document validation, and defect fixes.
• Troubleshoot mapping errors, document validation failures, connector issues, and process execution errors.
• Monitor Boomi process executions and assist with production support and deployment activities.
• Prepare mapping documents, technical notes, test evidence, and deployment documentation.
• Knowledge of GXS EDI mappings
• Coordinate with senior developers, testers, and technical leads during implementation and release.

3. Mandatory Technical Skills

• 5–8 years of overall IT experience, including practical Dell Boomi integration development experience.
• Basic to intermediate hands‑on experience with EDI integration development.
• Working knowledge of ANSI X12 and basic understanding of EDIFACT.
• Exposure to EDI transactions such as 850, 855, 856, 810, 997, and 999.
• Understanding of EDI document structures, segments, elements, qualifiers, envelopes, and control numbers.
• Experience with Boomi Maps, Profiles, Connectors, and process development.
• Basic understanding of AS2, SFTP, and FTP protocols.
• Knowledge of XML, JSON, flat files, REST APIs, and SOAP services.
• Ability to perform unit testing, troubleshoot integration failures, and document findings.

4. Good‑to‑Have Skills

• Exposure to additional EDI transactions such as 820, 846, 940, and 945.
• Knowledge of SAP, Oracle ERP, NetSuite, Salesforce, or WMS integrations.
• Basic understanding of supply chain, order management, and warehouse processes.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of EDI VAN connectivity.
• Exposure to Boomi deployment, environment extensions, and monitoring.
• Dell Boomi certification.

5. EDI Standards and Transaction Sets

• Standards: ANSI X12; basic understanding or exposure to EDIFACT.
• Core transaction sets: 850 Purchase Order; 855 Purchase Order Acknowledgement; 856 Advance Ship Notice; 810 Invoice; 997 Functional Acknowledgement; and 999 Implementation Acknowledgement.
• Awareness of additional transaction sets: 820, 846, 940, and 945.
• Understanding of ISA, GS, ST, SE, GE, and IEA segments; segment identifiers, data elements, qualifiers, control numbers, and basic acknowledgement processing.

6. Boomi Integration Platform Skills

• Practical development using Dell Boomi AtomSphere.
• Use of Start, Stop, Connector, Map, Decision, Business Rules, Data Process, Message, and Set Properties shapes.
• Creation and configuration of XML, JSON, flat-file, and EDI profiles.
• Basic configuration of EDI trading partner components and inbound/outbound processing.
• Use of document properties and dynamic process properties.
• Basic exception handling, process reporting, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of Atom deployment and process execution monitoring.

7. Communication and Stakeholder Management

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand technical specifications and follow integration design documents.
• Ability to collaborate with senior developers, technical leads, testing teams, and support teams.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, with willingness to learn additional EDI standards and integration capabilities.

8. Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Dell Boomi certification is an added advantage.
• Practical experience in integration development is required.
