Operational Energy Group (OEG) seeks an experienced DCS console operator to control BTG systems from the CCR via DCS consoles. The role focuses on safe generation, efficiency, and steady startup, shutdown, and operation across shifts.

The ideal candidate will manage boiler parameters, supervise field operators by radio, monitor turbine metrics, and respond quickly to process upsets to maintain plant availability.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation is required or desirable.
• 2+ years as a DCS console operator; total 3–8 years operational experience.
• BOE certification desirable.

Responsabilités

• Operate BTG via DCS during startup, sync, normal operation, and shutdown.
• Control boiler parameters such as main steam pressure, drum level, and steam temperatures.
• Direct field operators via radio for valve lineups and leak checks.
• Monitor turbine parameters including vibration, expansion, condenser vacuum, and lube oil.
• Synchronize the generator and adjust MW/MVAR output and frequency.
• Respond to process upsets to keep the plant online.

Job Summary

Controls, monitors, and optimizes primary plant systems (BTG) from the CCR via DCS consoles, maintaining safe generation and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate BTG via DCS during startup, sync, normal operation, and shutdown.
• Control boiler parameters - main steam pressure, drum level, steam temperatures.
• Direct field operators via radio for valve lineups and leak checks.
• Monitor turbine parameters - vibration, expansion, condenser vacuum, lube oil.
• Synchronize the generator, adjusting frequency, excitation, and MW/MVAR output.
• Respond to process upsets (pump/fan trip, load rejection) to keep the plant online.
