Responsibilities

• Generate BOQ and material take-offs from the BIM model.
• Ensure models and drawings comply with BIM standards and building codes (NBC, NFPA).

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BIM Modeler Plumbing & Firefighting to join our Chennai office. In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate 3D models, coordinated layouts, and shop drawings for Public Health Engineering (PHE/Plumbing) and Fire Protection systems.

As a core member of our project team, you will utilize industry-standard software to resolve design clashes, ensure compliance with building codes, and deliver high-quality BIM deliverables within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• BIM Modeling: Develop detailed 3D models for Plumbing (water supply, drainage, sewerage) and Firefighting (sprinklers, hydrants) systems using Autodesk Revit.
• Clash Coordination: Run clash detection checks using Navisworks, identify spatial conflicts with architectural, structural, and other MEP services, and resolve them efficiently.
• Documentation & Drawings: Extract precise 2D shop drawings, isometric layouts, builders work drawings, and schematic diagrams using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Quantity Take-offs: Generate accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs from the approved Revit model.
• Standard Compliance: Ensure all models and drawings adhere to company BIM standards, project protocols, and local/international building codes (e.g., NBC, NFPA).
• Project Collaboration: Coordinate closely with the design, engineering, and site execution teams to incorporate design changes and updates into the master model.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of Plumbing and Firefighting system designs, pipe sizing, routing rules, and spatial requirements.
• Location Constraint: This is a strictly on-site role in Chennai; work-from-home or hybrid options are not available.
• Candidate Preference: Local candidates residing in Chennai are highly preferred.
• Availability: Immediate joiners (or candidates with a notice period of less than 15 days) will be given top priority.
