BIM Modeler - MicroStation

Job summary

AECOM is seeking a BIM Modeler in Bengaluru to join the Enterprise Capabilities team. You will prepare and edit 2D drawings in MicroStation, coordinate data with Civil 3D and OpenRoads, and support infrastructure projects to deliver construction drawings and as-built documentation.

Role requires 3–6 years in MicroStation-based drafting with Civil 3D proficiency. You will manage data in ProjectWise/ACC and perform DWG/DGN translations while ensuring CAD standards are met.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology or Civil Drafting.
• 3–6 years of MicroStation-based drafting and modeling experience for civil infrastructure or utilities.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and Civil 3D; working knowledge of Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, profiles, and pipe networks.
• Familiarity with Bentley OpenRoads Designer / InRoads Designer workflows is a plus.
• Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure standards and construction documentation practices.
• Good knowledge of wet utility networks (water, sewer, drainage).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and edit 2D drawings using MicroStation (plans, profiles, sections).
• Import, reference, and coordinate SID files and design data from Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, InRoads Designer, and others.
• Support utility and infrastructure design teams in developing construction drawings and as-built documentation; ensure CAD standards are followed.
• Manage drawings and project data in ProjectWise/ACC; coordinate with BIM coordinators to align MicroStation and Civil 3D datasets.
• Generate drawing sheets, annotations, and labels per templates and QA/QC procedures.
• Assist with DWG-to-DGN and DGN-to-DWG data translations and multidisciplinary interface checks.

Job Description

• Prepare and edit 2D drawings , including plans, profiles, and cross-sections, using MicroStation.
• Import, reference, and coordinate SID files and design data from Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, InRoads Designer, and other modeling platforms.
• Support utility and infrastructure design teams in developing construction drawings, layouts, and as-built documentation . Ensure all deliverables comply with client-specific CAD standards, level libraries, file-naming conventions, and UTM Zone settings .
• Manage drawings and project data within ProjectWise / ACC environments for document control, versioning, and collaboration. Collaborate closely with engineers and BIM coordinators to maintain consistency between MicroStation and Civil 3D datasets .
• Generate drawing sheets, annotations, dimensions, and labels in accordance with project templates, scale-specific requirements, and QA/QC procedures .
• Assist with data translation, including DWG-to-DGN and DGN-to-DWG conversions , while maintaining data integrity. Support multidisciplinary coordination and interface checks for utility corridors, alignments, road infrastructure, and associated civil works .

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, or Civil Drafting .
• 3–6 years of experience in MicroStation-based drafting and modeling for civil infrastructure or utility projects.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and Civil 3D .Working knowledge of Civil 3D, including surfaces, alignments, profiles, and pipe networks .
• Familiarity with Bentley OpenRoads Designer / InRoads Designer workflows is an added advantage. Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure standards and construction documentation practices . Good knowledge of wet utility networks , including water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems.
