Job summary

Egis is seeking a BIM Structural Steel Technician to develop accurate 3D models in Autodesk Revit, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and produce detailed drawings for complex projects in Bengaluru. The candidate will manage families, ensure adherence to BIM standards, and support project milestones with high-quality deliverables.

Candidate should have a Civil Engineering degree (ITI/Diploma or BE) and experience with Navisworks/ACC/BIM 360, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit) is desirable.
• Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 3D structural steel models using Autodesk Revit.
• Model structural steel elements and prepare GA drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction drawings.
• Create and maintain Revit families for structural steel components when required.
• Coordinate structural models with architectural, MEP, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection using Navisworks or ACC/BIM 360.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications before modelling; incorporate client comments within timelines.
• Ensure models comply with BIM standards, naming conventions, and LOD requirements.
• Produce schedules, quantities, and material take-offs from Revit models.
• Maintain model health by managing warnings, worksets, linked models, and file performance.
• Support BIM Coordinators in model reviews, QA, and coordination meetings.
• Deliver project milestones within schedules while maintaining quality.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 3D structural steel models using Autodesk Revit.
• Model structural steel elements
• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction drawings.
• Create and maintain Revit families for structural steel components when required.
• Coordinate structural models with architectural, MEP, and multidisciplines.
• Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection using Navisworks or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and mark-ups before modelling.
• Incorporate engineer and client comments accurately within project timelines.
• Ensure models comply with company BIM standards, naming conventions, and Level of Development (LOD) requirements.
• Produce schedules, quantities, and material take-offs from Revit models.
• Maintain model health by managing warnings, worksets, linked models, and file performance.
• Support BIM Coordinators in model reviews, quality assurance, and coordination meetings.
• Deliver project milestones within agreed schedules while maintaining high quality.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit Structure.
• Strong understanding of structural steel framing systems.
• Good knowledge of structural engineering drawings and design documentation.

Experience with

• Autodesk Navisworks
• Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360)
• AutoCAD
• Ability to create and modify Revit families and templates.
• Knowledge of BIM Execution Plans (BEP), ISO 19650, and company BIM standards.
• Understanding of Levels of Development (LOD 200–400).
• Experience in model coordination and clash detection.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit) is desirable.

Experience

• Structural Steel Technician: 3–9 years of experience in structural BIM projects.
• Senior Structural Steel Technician: 9+years of experience of modelling.
• BIM Structural Steel Coordinator – 10yrs and above experience of leading structural modelling and BIM coordination.
