Job summary

NIQ is seeking a Billing & Revenue Senior Analyst to join the Finance Operations – Global Billing team. You will administer, review, and validate sales contracts to recognize revenue and establish billing plans in line with global policies, collaborating with Client Service to ensure compliance.

The role requires deep knowledge of US GAAP, strong analytical skills, and experience with ERP systems (SAP Order To Invoice, Microsoft Dynamics). Fluency in English and French is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in billing, revenue recognition, or a similar role with strong US GAAP knowledge.
  • Revenue recognition expertise and ability to apply principles in a complex business environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to review contracts and financial data for accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills.

Job description

The Billing & Revenue Senior Analyst at NIQ will be part of the Finance Operations – within our Global Billing team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for administering, reviewing, and validating sales contracts to recognize revenue and establish billing plans in alignment with global and regional policies and procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with Client Service teams to ensure US GAAP and statutory compliance across all billing and revenue processes, including period closing and reconciliations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to support NIQ's financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Contract Administration: Administer, review, and validate sales contracts, including contract and order processing coordination with Client Service teams, to accurately recognize revenue and establish appropriate billing plans.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure billing and revenue recognition practices are compliant with US GAAP, statutory requirements, and company policies, while monitoring regional statutory compliance and providing guidance on related statutory and tax accounting.
  • Collaboration with Client Service Teams: Partner with Client Service teams and Client Service leadership to streamline revenue and billing processes, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
  • Financial Closing and Reconciliations: Support the financial closing process by performing accurate revenue and billing reconciliations, including month-end activities, accruals, provisions, and ensuring the integrity of financial records in accordance with US-GAAP/Statutory rules and Global COE processes.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in revenue and billing processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance, including recommendations to evolve the revenue function.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on billing and revenue metrics, providing regional input and insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide support and guidance to finance and non-finance teams, including FP&A and Consolidation teams on revenue recognition, billing practices, and related IT/Digital projects (e.g., SAP Order To Invoice, Microsoft Dynamics)
Qualifications

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze contract terms, financial data, and ensure accuracy in revenue and billing processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, particularly those related to billing and revenue recognition. Advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Process Improvement Mindset: Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance financial operations' efficiency and compliance.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and French (both written and spoken).
