Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Kolkata seeks a Big Data Developer with 4–10 years of hands-on experience in Java/Scala, Spark, Hive, and Unix shell scripting. Proficiency in Hadoop ecosystems (HDFS, Sqoop, Kafka) and SQL dialects (Oracle, Hive, Spark, Impala, HBase) is required. Strong communication and customer management skills are essential for this role.

Knowledge of Eclipse IDE, Tectia Client and Oracle SQL Developer is a plus. 15 years of full-time education is expected.

Qualifications

• Hands on development experience in Java/Scala with Maven and Apache Spark
• Experience with Unix File system and HDFS commands
• Experience with Oracle SQL, Hive SQL, Spark SQL, Impala and HBase DB
• Strong communication and customer management skills
• Knowledge of Big Data concepts and data ingestion tools like Sqoop and Kafka
• Familiar with building projects using Eclipse IDE, Tectia Client and Oracle SQL Developer

Required Technical Skill Set - Bigdata –Scala/Java, Spark, Hive, Unix Shell Scripting

Must-Have

• Hands on development experience in programming languages such as JAVA,SCALA using Maven, Apache Spark Frameworks and Unix Shell scripting
• Should be comfortable with Unix File system as well as HDFS commands
• Should have worked on query languages such as Oracle SQL, Hive SQL, Spark SQL, Impala, HBase DB
• Should be flexible
• Should have good communication and customer management skills

Good-to-Have

• Should have knowledge on Big data, Data Ingestion tools such as SQOOP and KAFKA.
• Should be aware of the components in Big Data ecosystem.
• Should have worked on building projects using Eclipse IDE, Tectia Client, Oracle SQL Developer.
