Job summary

Bounteous in India seeks a Senior BI Developer with 7-10 years of hands-on SSAS and MDX experience to design, build, and maintain enterprise BI solutions. You will combine SSAS Multidimensional and Tabular expertise with MDX and DAX to deliver high-performance analytical capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities include designing SSAS cubes and dimensional models, writing MDX and DAX calculations, building ETL pipelines with SSIS, and delivering Power BI dashboards linked to SSAS

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of BI development experience in production Enterprise environments.
• Expert-level SSAS Multidimensional and Tabular proficiency and KPI development.
• Strong MDX and DAX skills for complex calculations and measures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SSAS Multidimensional and Tabular models.
• Write and optimise complex MDX queries and calculations.
• Develop DAX measures and calculated columns for SSAS Tabular and Power BI.
• Design and maintain dimensional data models with star/snowflake schemas.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS for data warehouse loading.
• Develop SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards from SSAS sources.
• Conduct SSAS performance tuning and MDX tuning for performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate BI requirements into solutions.
• Support SSAS model upgrades and migrations as needed.
• Produce clear technical documentation including cube design and ETL specs.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior BI Developer with 7-10 years of experience and strong hands‑on expertise in SSAS and MDX to design, build, and maintain enterprise‑grade business intelligence solutions. You will combine deep SSAS Multidimensional and Tabular model expertise with strong MDX and DAX skills — delivering high‑performance analytical solutions that support business decision‑making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SSAS Multidimensional and Tabular models — building enterprise‑grade analytical cubes and models aligned to business reporting requirements.
• Write and optimise complex MDX queries and calculations — calculated members, named sets, KPIs, and performance‑tuned MDX expressions across SSAS Multidimensional solutions.
• Develop DAX measures and calculated columns for SSAS Tabular models and Power BI — ensuring accurate, performant, and reusable analytical calculations.
• Design and maintain dimensional data models — star and snowflake schemas — aligned to data warehouse and BI best practices.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS — data extraction, transformation, and loading from source systems into the data warehouse and SSAS models.
• Develop SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards — delivering clear, accurate, and actionable business insights from SSAS data sources.
• Conduct SSAS performance tuning — cube partition design, aggregation optimisation, MDX query tuning, and processing performance improvement.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders — gathering reporting requirements and translating them into well‑designed SSAS and BI solutions.
• Support SSAS model upgrades and migrations — including migration from Multidimensional to Tabular or Azure Analysis Services where applicable.
• Produce clear technical documentation — cube design documents, MDX calculation guides, and ETL specifications.

What We’re Looking For

• 7-10 years of BI development experience with deep, demonstrable expertise in SSAS and MDX in production enterprise environments.
• Expert‑level SSAS Multidimensional proficiency — cube design, dimension modelling, measure groups, partitions, aggregations, and KPI development.
• Strong MDX skills — complex calculated members, named sets, scoped assignments, and performance‑optimised MDX expressions.
• Solid SSAS Tabular experience — DAX measures, relationships, and tabular model design alongside Multidimensional expertise.
• Advanced T‑SQL and SQL Server skills — complex querying, stored procedures, and query performance tuning for BI and data warehouse workloads.
• Solid SSIS experience — ETL pipeline design, development, and performance optimisation for data warehouse loading.
• Good Power BI skills — report and dashboard development integrated with SSAS Tabular and Multidimensional data sources.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills — diagnosing SSAS performance issues, MDX query problems, and data quality defects.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills — translating complex BI requirements into well‑designed analytical solutions.
