Responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Maintain and enhance Power BI solutions and troubleshoot reporting/data issues.
• Develop and optimise DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and data models.
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, refresh failures, connectivity issues and performance problems.
• Connect Power BI solutions to multiple data sources including SQL, SharePoint, Fabric Lakehouses.
• Monitor scheduled refreshes and ensure reliability and accuracy of reports.
• Publish and manage reports with access permissions and Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers and business stakeholders to ensure end-to-end data flows.

What we are looking for: We are looking for an experienced BI & Data Engineer with strong expertise in Power BI, data modelling, SQL, and data engineering. This role combines business intelligence development with hands on data engineering responsibilities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Business Intelligence & Power BI

Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.

Maintain and enhance existing Power BI solutions, including troubleshooting reporting and data-related issues.

Develop and optimise DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and semantic/data models.

Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, refresh failures, connectivity issues, and report performance problems.

Connect Power BI solutions to multiple data sources, including SQL databases, SharePoint, and Fabric Lakehouses.

Monitor scheduled refreshes and ensure reporting solutions remain reliable and accurate.

Optimise Power BI reports and data models for performance, usability, and maintainability.

Validate reporting outputs to ensure accuracy and consistency of business data.

Publish and manage reports within Power BI workspaces, including access permissions and Row-Level Security (RLS).

Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate requirements into scalable BI solutions.

Data Engineering

Maintain and support existing data pipelines, ensuring reliable and consistent execution.

Monitor pipeline runs and troubleshoot failures and data-processing issues.

Enhance and modify existing pipelines based on evolving business and reporting requirements.

Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis to resolve data-quality issues.

Develop and optimise SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, integration, and validation.

Support ETL/ELT processes and integration of data from multiple source systems.

Manage pipeline dependencies and support incremental data-loading patterns where required.

Work with Azure data services and/or Fabric to support data ingestion, transformation, and downstream analytics.

Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable end-to-end data flows.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Power BI development, including report and dashboard development, maintenance, enhancement, optimisation, and troubleshooting.

3+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience, including maintaining data pipelines and resolving pipeline and data-processing issues.

Strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and report performance optimisation.

Strong proficiency in SQL, including data extraction, transformation, validation, and troubleshooting.

Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and data-quality validation.

Working knowledge of Azure data services and/or Fabric, including pipeline monitoring and data integration.

Experience troubleshooting issues across the BI and data pipeline lifecycle.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data accuracy and reliability.

Ability to translate business requirements into effective BI and data solutions.

Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Fabric Lakehouse architecture and related Fabric capabilities.

Experience developing BI solutions using data from multiple enterprise systems.

Understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts.

Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Relevant Power BI, Fabric, or Azure certifications are an advantage.
