Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. in Bengaluru invites applications for a Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer to support offshore projects and day-to-day technical tasks.

You will work with senior engineers on rotating machinery for offshore facilities and contribute to safe, reliable energy systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Technology in Mechanical engineering.
• 5–10 years of offshore Oil & Gas detail engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines).
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASTM, ASME, ANSI, API).
• Experience in material handling studies is preferable.
• Good communication and teamwork across multinational EPC/engineering partners.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineer in day-to-day work.
• Prepare and check specifications, datasheets, RFQs, TBEs for pumps, compressors, gas turbines, engines and other machinery on offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Review vendor offers, prepare technical bid clarifications, attend bidder clarification meetings, review and approve vendor drawings.
• Detail engineering of packages like chemical injection package, potable water maker, fire water pumps, pedestal cranes, diesel generators etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineer in the day to day performance of the work

Requirements

• Bachelor/Master of Technology - Mechanical
• 5-10 years relevant experience in the offshore Oil & Gas industry with specific experience on Detail Engineering of Rotating Equipment and Packages for Offshore Oil and Gas facilities – Wellhead platforms, Fixed Process Platforms, FPSO topsides modules.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment engineering principles (pumps, compressors, turbines)
• In depth knowledge of International Codes and Standards applicable with the discipline (such as ASTM, ASME, ANSI, API)
• Experience in Material Handling Studies is preferable
• Effective Team player, capable of working with Multi-National EPC and Engineering Companies and possess Good communication skills.
