Job summary

SBM Offshore invites applications for a Mechanical Handling Engineer in Bangalore to lead technical packages for offshore facilities. The role covers specifications, data sheets, bid evaluation, and supplier document reviews, across FPSO and related equipment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of relevant experience, hands-on in AVEVA/NAVIS, and strong communication skills for cross-discipline coordination with 3D designers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Expertise in handling concepts of various equipment and packages for FPSO/offshore facilities.
• Strong problem solving abilities to address multidisciplinary issues.
• Knowledge of handling equipment and their capabilities.
• Ability to review package drawings and assess handling aspects.
• Experience preparing mechanical handling study reports and presentations.
• Proactive coordination with 3D designers and stakeholders to implement requirements.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years of experience and 2 projects performing these activities.
• Experience with mechanical handling equipment, deck cranes, static/rotating equipment, and package/skid items.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall technical aspect of package engineering activities, including specifications and data sheets.
• Evaluate technical bids and manage technical clarifications.
• Review and approve supplier documents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for overall technical aspect of package engineering activities, which includes:
  • preparing specifications, data sheets
  • evaluating Technical bids and managing technical clarifications,
  • Reviewing and approvingsupplier documents.

REQUIREMENTS

• Expertise in handling concept of various equipment and package in the FPSO/ Offshore facility.
• Should have problem solving capabilities for handling related issues with various inter disciplines.
• Knowledge in various handling equipment and their capabilities.
• Knowledge of understanding and reviewing various package drawings and assess handling aspects.
• Responsible for preparing Mechanical handling study report and presentations.
• Regularly participates in Model Review Session to present the handling details and is responsible to address all material handling related queries.
• Recommends improvements to ensure most efficient and cost-effective handling procedures.
• Shall have hands on knowledge in 3D review software like Aveva NAVIS Simulate.
• Responsible for interfacing with all state holders and 3D designers to implement the handling requirements.
• Shall be highly proactive and involve in everyday coordination to quickly understand and resolve the issues.
• Shall have very good presentation and communication skills.
• Minimum experience of 2 years and 2 projects in performing the above activities.
• Experience is following packages – Mechanical handling equipment, Deck cranes, Static equipment, Rotating equipment, Package/skid items.
