Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking an Instrumentation Designer in Bangalore, India. The role focuses on developing loop diagrams, system interconnections, and instrument layouts for offshore facilities.

You will use SPI INtools, Aveva Instrumentation, AutoCAD, and MCT sizing while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure accurate installation and configuration. Qualified candidates hold a Diploma in Instrumentation/Electrical with 5–10 years of offshore Oil & Gas experience, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical engineering required.
• 5–10 years offshore Oil & Gas instrumentation design experience.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Loop Diagrams and System Interconnections.
• Create Junction Box wiring diagrams and schedules.
• Design instrument layouts and cable routing for offshore facilities.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure proper installation and configuration.
• Develop instrument bulk material take-off and installation documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare Loop Diagrams & Overall System Interconnection Diagrams.
• Software: SPI (INtools) and Aveva Instrumentation, AutoCAD, MCT Sizing. Aveva Cable Routing.
• Junction Box Wiring Diagrams, MCT Arrangement Drawings.
• Preparation of instrument and JB schedules, Cable schedules.
• Instrument & Junction Box Layouts, Cable Tray & Tube Tray Layouts.

• Fire & Gas, ESD, FSD and Fusible Plug Layouts, Instrument Installation & Hook-up Diagrams.
• Instrument Bulk Material Take-Off.
• Work with Engineers and Designers both within and outside the discipline to ensureinstruments are selected, installed, and configured for optimum operation and accuracy.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Instrumentation/Electrical.
• 5- 10 years relevant experience in the offshore Oil & Gas industry with specific experience on Instrumentation design for Offshore Oil and Gas facilities – Wellhead platforms, Fixed Process Platforms, FPSO topsides modules & Turret Mooring System.
• Good knowledge of international codes & standards.
