Job summary

Scopely in Bengaluru is recruiting a backend engineer to build and maintain scalable game services using Python and Django. You will contribute to a large codebase, write robust server-side logic, and ensure reliable REST APIs that power gameplay features and live events.

Collaborating with product, design, QA, analytics, and other engineers, you will help deliver high-quality player experiences. You will also write tests, troubleshoot issues, and participate in code reviews to maintain code

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience in backend systems, gaming, or consumer products.
• Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming.
• Experience building or supporting backend services and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or similar backend technologies.
• Working knowledge of databases, caching, or NoSQL systems such as Redis or DynamoDB.
• Exposure to async processing, scheduled jobs, or queue-based workflows is a plus.
• Familiarity with Docker, AWS, or cloud-based development environments is a plus.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience writing automated tests and contributing to code reviews.
